Biography
Having graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Florence, he joined the Laboratorio di Progettazione Teatrale in Prato and made his debut in "The Tower" by von Hofmannsthal, directed by L. Ronconi. Later he enrolled in course at the Silvio D’Amico Drama Academy and at V. Gassman’s Bottega dell’Attore. He has worked with U. Chiti, Pier’Alli, E. De Capitani, G. Cobelli, M. Martone, P. Maccarinelli and Cherif. In 1985 he returned to work with Ronconi performing in many of his productions, among them it is worth mentioning Goldoni’s ‘La Serva Amorosa’, O’Neill’s ‘Strange Interlude’, ‘The last Days of Mankind’ by K. Kraus, Shakespeare’s ‘Measure for Measure’, Capek’s ‘The Makropolus Affair’, ‘Peer Gynt’ by Ibsen, ‘Ruy Blas’ by V. Hugo, ‘The Karamazov Brothers’ by Dostoevsky, ‘Alcesti’ by Savinio, ‘Life is a Dream’ by Calderón de la Barca, ‘Candelaio’ by G. Bruno, Aristophanes’ ‘The Frogs’, ‘Pity She is a Whore’ by Ford, ‘La Centaura’ by Andreini and ‘Professor Bernhardi’ by A. Schnitlzer.
In 2000 he was awarded the Ubu Prize as Best Supporting Actor for his role as Clarino in Life is a Dream.
