Biography
Born in Rome, he began to study percussion when he was still very young. He soon achieved such a high level of success that he was considered the best Italian jazz drummer. Today he has matured even more achieving a personal style that takes into account the great traditions of jazz’s historical "drumming". In addition to playing with the great names of jazz, among them Lee Konitz, Chet Baker, Bob Berg, Tommy Flanegan, Joe Zawinul and Joe Lovano, for years he has led his own extremely successful band with which he has recorded many records, also with Michael Brecker as a guest. He has also composed the soundtracks for films.
He has lately joined Pino Daniele’s band.
